Profile:
Undergraduate studies at Imperial College, University of London (B. Sc. in Mathematics 1988).
Postgraduate studies at Stanford University (M. Sc., 1990) and Imperial College, University of London (Ph.D., 1993).
I have worked at the University of Cyprus (Lecturer: 1993-1996, Assistant Professor: 1996-2006,
Associate Professor from 2006).
Research Interests:
Group Representation Theory, Algebraic Combinatorics.
My main research interest is the representation theory of finite Coxeter groups and associated Hecke algebras,
which can be thought of as $q$-analogues of the group algebra.
I am investigating the representations of these groups by studying the Kazhdan-Lusztig cells and the combinatorics associated with this cell structure,
especially in the case of the symmetric group.
Other research interests: Weil representations of symplectic and unitary groups, degenerations of algebras.
